10 diy backdrop ideas

10 {Cheap & Easy} Photography Backdrop Ideas

jessica edler July 3, 2014

Being a creative at heart, photographing on all white or all black can get boring. Sometimes, I need to play around. I see or read about and idea and then take it and make it my own-or simply come up with an idea and play with it and see what happens. Here is a list of 5 generally easy and quite cheap ideas for you to 'spice things up' in your own studio spaces! Please feel free to pin it or share with your other friends!

one.

"Duck Cloth" or any cloth material

two.

aluminum foil.

three.

plastic table cloths.

four.

Christmas/Holiday Lights.

five.

Tissue paper

six.

newspaper or magazines pages make for really interesting backdrops

seven.

Flowers, real or fake look really cool.

eight.

use butcher paper and modge podge with random materials to create unique looks

nine.

picture frames

ten.

Hang things from the ceiling for interesting look and to add depth.

The cool thing about creating a backdrop, a background of sort, is that it really can be anything you want. Just remember to pull your subject away from it to create separation and really make them the focal point.
